Robert H. Zerbst
Special Advisor, Past CEO and Chairman
CB Richard Ellis Investors

Mr. Zerbst joined CB Richard Ellis Investors as president in 1997. From 1998 through 2006 he served as CEO and had overall responsibility for investment policy and the strategic direction of the firm. He led the growth and transformation of CB Richard Ellis Investors from a domestic pension fund adviser with $3.7 billion of assets under management to a multi-strategy, global investment organization with a portfolio of more than $31 billion.

In 1981, after a career in real estate research and education, Zerbst founded and served as CEO of Piedmont Realty Advisors, a San Francisco-based registered investment advisory firm. In 1991, Piedmont merged with The RREEF Funds. While a partner at RREEF, he was responsible for all investments in the western United States and opportunistic investments nationally.

Mr. Zerbst holds a B.A. from Miami University, an M.A. in Economics, an M.B.A. and a Ph.D. in Finance and Real Estate Economics from Ohio State University. He also earned the CRE and MAI professional designations, and is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), Chairman of National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), Real Estate Round Table, Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Asia Society and the Policy Advisory Board at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.

Patrick G. Halter
Chief Executive Officer

Pat Halter is the chief executive officer of Principal Real Estate Investors, the dedicated real estate unit of Principal Global Investors. As head of real estate, he is responsible for overall global real estate strategy, new business development, and business management, including oversight of staff professionals located in the United States and Australia.

As a twenty-year veteran in commercial real estate, Pat’s expertise includes product and fund design, new business development, portfolio strategy and investment management. He also has substantial transaction experience originating and approving over $25 billion in investments for Principal and its clients. Pat chairs the board of Principal Real Estate Investors. He also serves as the chair of numerous other Principal Real Estate Investors subsidiaries.

Pat joined the firm in 1984. He has held various positions within the real estate group. He received an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from the University of Wisconsin. Pat is a member of the Pension and Real Estate Association (PREA), the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA) and the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and serves on the Board of the University of Wisconsin Center for Real Estate.

Charles L. (Chip) Davidson, III

The Brookdale Group

Chip Davidson is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of The Brookdale Group, LLC, an Atlanta-based commercial real estate investment company. The Brookdale Group, in conjunction with its operating affiliate Brookdale Realty Services, LLC, provides a full range of real estate investment services exclusively to the Brookdale-sponsored investment funds. Since its formation, Brookdale has sponsored five real estate investment funds with aggregate capital commitments in excess of $1 billion which have invested in real estate projects located throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Southwest regions of the United States. Prior to founding The Brookdale Group in 1994, Mr. Davidson spent 16 years with Houston-based real estate company Hines, where he was the Executive Vice President/Regional Partner responsible for oversight of all investment, development, property management, leasing and asset management activities in Hines’ Southeast Region.

In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of NARIEM, Mr. Davidson is active in several other industry organizations, including in particular the Urban Land Institute and The Real Estate Roundtable. He has addressed numerous real estate groups and conferences and has been a visiting lecturer at the Yale School of Management, The Goizueta School of Business at Emory University and the Georgia Tech Graduate College of Management. In addition, Mr. Davidson has held leadership roles with numerous local and regional community organizations, and is the current Chairperson of the Davidson College Board of Visitors, a founder and past chairman of the Board of the Georgia Center for Children, a current member of the Board of St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta and a past chairman of the Board of the St. Joseph’s Mercy Foundation, a current member of the State of Georgia Capitol Asset Management Advisory Council, a former member of the State of Georgia Properties Commission, and a former member of the Executive Committee of Northside United Methodist Church.

Mr. Davidson holds a BA from Davidson College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He resides in Atlanta with his wife of 25 years and their two sons.

Jeffrey A. Barclay
Managing Director
ING Clarion Partners

Jeffrey A. Barclay is Managing Director and head of acquisitions at ING Clarion Partners, a real estate investment management firm with over $20 billion in assets invested through both funds and institutional separate accounts. ING Clarion Partners is part of ING Real Estate, one of the world’s largest real estate investment managers.

Mr. Barclay directs the firm’s private investment activity throughout the United States, including investments in office, retail, apartment and industrial properties throughout the operating cycle. Mr. Barclay serves on the firm’s Executive, Operating and Investment Committees.

Prior to joining ING Clarion, Mr. Barclay was a partner at Hamilton Securities, a Washington, DC-based investment bank. From 1989 to 1992 he was responsible for investment sales at Jones Lang LaSalle. He began his real estate investment career in 1983 at the Lawrence Ruben Company, a private development and investment company. Mr. Barclay also worked in the real estate department of Chemical Bank and in the Equity Research group at CS First Boston.

Mr. Barclay currently serves as Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, where he earned his MBA in Finance and Accounting. He served as adjunct professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business from 1996 through 2001.

Mr. Barclay is chairman of the Institute Committee of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). He is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM) and vice chairman of the Industrial and Office Product Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He resides in Chappaqua, New York, with his wife, Toby, and their two daughters.

John M. Parker
President and CEO

John Parker is a founding principal of Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel, LP. He was Director of Acquisitions for 18 years until March 2007 when he assumed the position of President and CEO. Mr. Parker focuses on day-to-day operations as well as the strategic direction of the firm and, as a member of the Investment Committee, he participates in all considerations for the Kennedy portfolio.

Mr. Parker holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and a BA degree in economics and mathematics from Stanford University. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Washington and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Kennedy Associates has over 30 years experience as an institutional real estate investment advisor in all property types. The firm has invested in and managed $12 billion in development, redevelopment, and existing properties in major markets across the United States.

Bleecker P. Seaman III
Managing Director
Lowe Enterprises Investors

Bleecker P. Seaman, III, Managing Director of Lowe Enterprises Investors (LEI) with shared responsibility for oversight and management of the firm’s investment management business. He is chairman of LEI’s Investment Committee and is actively involved in investment strategy and portfolio management on behalf of the firm’s clients. Prior to his current position, Mr. Seaman served as COO for LEI and has held positions as CFO and Acquisition Officer in Lowe’s hospitality subsidiary.

Previously, Mr. Seaman served as Assistant Director of Real Estate Investments for the Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System, and was a real estate Loan Officer for First Union National Bank. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers. Education: University of North Carolina, BA; Duke University, MBA.

David H. Steinwedell
Managing Partner
AIC Ventures

David H. Steinwedell is a managing partner and has responsibility for acquisitions of properties for AIC sponsored funds. He chairs AIC’s Investment Committee. Mr. Steinwedell was formerly President of Wells Fund Management at Wells Real Estate Funds where he was responsible for leading a real estate investment management team dedicated to serving institutional investors. While at Wells, he was Chief Investment Officer for five years leading a team of professionals responsible for Wells’ real estate investment strategy that accomplished over $9 billion in acquisitions, $300 million in development and $4 billion in finance since 2001. Mr. Steinwedell has more than 22 years of experience in investment management, transaction negotiation, asset management, property rehabilitation, real estate investment banking and brokerage.

In 2000, Mr. Steinwedell founded Steinwedell & Associates LLC, a capital markets advisory firm. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Executive Vice President in Investment Banking at Jones Lang LaSalle and was Managing Director at Cushman Realty Corporation from 1994 to 1998. During that time, Mr. Steinwedell directed and grew operations of investment banking and brokerage units in the South, resulting in $2.2 billion in transactions.

Mr. Steinwedell began his career at Aetna Life & Casualty, leaving as Managing Director in 1994. While at Aetna, he was responsible for asset management, disposition and acquisition activities for pension funds and the general account. During his career, Mr. Steinwedell has managed 3.2 million square feet of office, industrial, and retail property; directly leased 1.1 million square feet; and negotiated over 4 million square feet of leases.

The recipient of numerous industry awards and accolades, Mr. Steinwedell sits on the Board of Directors for The National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM). Mr. Steinwedell is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and was a member of the Executive Committee of ULI Atlanta where he chaired the Mentor Program. He is past President of the Tritt Foundation. He is also a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Mr. Steinwedell earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y.

Thomas Garbutt

Thomas Garbutt has been in the real estate investment industry for 26 years.  He is a Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate at TIAA-CREF a leading financial services organization and asset manager.  The organization has over $350 billion in assets under management worldwide.

Tom is responsible for TIAA-CREF’s global real estate activities, including acquisitions, sales, research, and portfolio and asset management.  TIAA-CREF has a global real estate portfolio of $20 billion comprised of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties.

Tom has an M.S. in Real Estate Investment from New York University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Binghamton University.  He is a member of ULI, PREA, NAREIM and The Real Estate Roundtable.

Matt Lynch
Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate
UBS Global Asset Management

Matt Lynch is the head of the Global Real Estate – US investment management business of UBS Global Asset Management, based in Hartford, CT. He joined the firm as general counsel and a member of the Investment Committee, at the time of its acquisition by TA Associates in 1996.  He has chaired the firm’s investment committee since 2004, and has also been a member of UBS’s Global Real Estate Management Committee since its inception in 2002. Previously Matt had responsibility for legal and compliance issues, product development, as well as assisting in the establishment of UBS’s global real estate organization.  Prior to joining the firm, Matt had served as counsel in Aetna Life Insurance Company’s law department beginning in 1994 and prior to that was a partner in the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr where he practiced for 10 years.  Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut, Matt is a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, and a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, the Pension Real Estate Association, the Real Estate Roundtable, and the Real Estate Finance Association.
