Health insurance premiums increased for 81% of respondents, according to a NAREIM member pulse survey conducted between January 5 and January 26, 2026.
Despite the increase, 88% of respondents kept their medical carrier rather than switching.
Nearly 75% of employees are very satisfied or satisfied with their current medical insurance offerings, with Blue Cross Blue Shield cited as the most common health care provider among respondents.
Among medium-sized companies, just over half (54%) of respondents had medium rates of participation, where 71% to 85% of employees enrolled in the company health plan.
Medium-sized group employers covers 81% of the premium (employer portion) on average (between 69%-92%).
Small group employers cover 67% of the premium (employer portion) on average (between 58%-81%).
