The real estate industry can tackle the monumental task of eliminating Scope 3 emissions by defining boundaries, mandating operational guidelines and advocating for change throughout the value chain.

Any organization can set ambitious sustainability goals, but promises alone are not enough to tackle the enormous challenges ahead of us as we strive to decarbonize the built environment, which represents about 40% of global carbon emissions. As a 1.5o C-aligned company, Lendlease has set a target to reach absolute zero by 2040 for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions without the use of offsets.
